Holy Schnikes it’s the LAST week of the Challenge and I can’t even believe it. I must say if it wasn’t for all the great support and encouragement I got from ya’ll I might not of made it. But it feels fantastic to be rid of all the clutter that grated on my last nerve. Finally we tackle the Garage, and probably the place most of your donations have landed. Not to mention the stuff normally kept away for no one else to see…
Sorry Mary but never in my life have I been grateful not to have a Garage. If you’ve been a reader for a while (thank you!) you’ve probably heard me talk about our shop. Or should I say SuperHubbie’s shop. I use to have an area to do my projects but he filled it with his clutter. I do store the Christmas decorations in a small loft and I can paint my own project in here BUT I have to use a stool for a table top! Look, I even have proof.
His shtuff, his mess, I ain’t touching it. HAHAHAHAHA! But that doesn’t mean you don’t have a Garage waiting to be decluttered! Let’s get to the daily tasks.
Garage Daily Tasks:
Monday
Empty your car & stuff it full with all much clutter as you can. Donate it today. Drive there now.
Tuesday
Prepare your car today for the recycling center (no waiting for recycle day). Get the garbage can ready & get out all the trash and recycle items you possibly can. Be strong.
Wednesday
Any clutter on shelves you can sell on Craigslist or give away.
You CAN let it go. Let it go.
Thursday
Clear the fridge & freezer hanging out in the Garage.
Friday
Look over the floor & guilelessly remove any junk.
Saturday
Donate any more donations & relocate any items into the room they belong in.
That’s it. We are done! How awesome do you feel? Now the hard part comes…changing the habit of keeping clutter around. We all do it for different reasons.
Now is the time to change it.
The Queen of all things organized, Mary at Mary Organizes, got me (and hopefully you!) motivated with her De-Clutter Your Home In 91 Days Challenge to begin with. Now it’s up to me to make a change. Did you know it takes 21 days to make something a habit?
Start a new cleaning routine that fits you and your schedule. Put up 21 sticky notes to remind you to check your routine each day to keep up all that decluttering hard work. Take one note down each day. If you are in need of a cleaning routine you are in luck! Find over 15 different FREE PRINTABLE cleaning routines here!
Don’t give up. Keep working. You CAN do it. A little each day for 91 days adds up to a decluttered home. Now you can focus on the important things in life. Thanks so much for following along and motivating me to keep up the good work!
